Might the damage have been reversible if they had been allowed to take Charlie to the States for treatment six months ago, when this dispute started? We'll never know, but it's a question that must haunt his parents. Congratulations, Great Ormond Street Hospital; you have succeeded in drawing this out long enough that there's no danger a different doctor might make you look bad.
Be glad we still live in a free country.
Why do I foresee a few bungling incompetents or outright evil characters named Ormund happening now?

ReplyDeleteMe neither. Hard enough that your baby has a probably incurable disease. How much harder to know that his one slim chance at life has been denied by doctors and judges? If they do not hate the people who blocked his treatment in the States... they're better people than I am.
ReplyDeleteWe should hate evil. And I don't think I would be able to follow "Hate the sin but love the sinner" in this instance.
